The Prime Minister has formed the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) and reconstituted the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC). Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs Asad Umer has been appointed as chairman of both the panels. This was revealed by a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat.
The ECC will have the following composition following composition.
Minister of finance, revenue & economic affairs (chairman), minister for communication (when appointed), minister for law & justice, minister for maritime affairs, minister for national food security & research, minister for petroleum, minister for power, minister for planning, development & reform, minister for privatisation, minister for railways, minister for statistics(when appointed) , minister for water resources, minister of state for communications, adviser on commerce, textile, industry & production & investment, and adviser on institutional reforms & austerity as members.
Deputy chairman, Planning Commission (When appointed), governor State Bank of Pakistan, chairman Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, chairman Board of Investment, secretary Commerce Division, secretary Communications Division, secretary Economic Affairs Division, secretary Finance Division, secretary Industries & Production Division, secretary National Food Security & Research, Division, secretary Planning, Development & Reform Division, secretary Petroleum Division, Secretary, Power Division, secretary Railways Division, secretary Revenue Division, secretary Statistics Division, secretary Textile Division, and secretary Water Resources Division would be invited by special invitation.
Eight-member Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has also been reconstituted with its composition as Asad Umer, Minister for Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs (chairman). Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtaiar, Minister for Planning, Development & Reform, Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industry & Production & Investment, Dr Ishrat Hussain, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms & Austerity, Makhdum Hashim Jawan Bakht, Punjab Minister for Finance, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro from Sindh, Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, and Nawabzada Tariq Khan Magsi, Balochistan Minister for Communication & Works Department, as members.
“Deputy chairman Planning Commission (when appointed), secretary Economic Affairs Division, secretary Finance Division, and secretary Planning, Development & Reform Division would be invited on special invitation for all agenda items.
“Other officers of the federal/provincial governments as well as of the government of AJ&K, Gilgit-Baltistan & FATA shall be invited to the meetings of ECNEC whenever needed
