Additional charge of Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Neelum Jehlum Hydropower Company (NJHPC) is given to Engineer Muhammad Zareen, Advisor Authority Projects Northern Areas by Chairman Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), Lt-General Muzammil Hussain (retired).
In a letter to the Engineer Zareen, Chairman Wapda has directed Engineer Zareen to take over the charge of CEO/ MD NJPHC vacated with immediate effect due to the resignation of Engineer Muhammad Zubair.
One of the interesting things in the letter is that the newly appointed Chairman wrote his own name as Lt-General (retd) but deliberately mentioned former CEO NJHPC as Engineer Muhammad Zubair instead of Lt. General Muhammad Zubair (retd). Likewise, he simply wrote Engineer Zareen despite the fact he is also a retired Brigadier.
General Zubair, who was associated with the project for the last six years, faced the new Chairman a couple of days ago at the site of the project.
The sources said, Chairman Wapda who has been given free hand by the Prime Minister, expressed displeasure at the performance of General Zubair who preferred to resign. His contract was also about to expire on September 22, 2016.
