The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC0 Saeed Ahmed Khan has said signed a Joint Venture (JV) agreement China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) in China to develop 1000 acres Rashakai Special Economic Zone(SEZ). Pakistan and China have agreed to develop several Economic zones all across the country to increased trade, increased investment, to attract foreign direct investment, job creation and effective administration. The Rashakai SEZ is the only one which is almost 90% complete. This project has already received recommendation for SEZ status from Federal Board of Investment in its approvals committee meeting.
The SEZ to be developed jointly by KP-EZDMC and CRBC will be state of the art economic zone offering excellent infrastructure and amenities to the industrialists. The project will be launched soon however applications for more than 970 acres from local investors have already been received. According to the JV Agreement CRBC will be responsible for marketing the zone locally and internationally. As part of its marketing efforts, CRBC is in advance stages of inviting local investors and Chinese large-scale manufacturers to invest in the zone.
