In a significant move to safeguard consumers and protect brand integrity, leading electrical brands have intensified efforts to curb the growing menace of counterfeit products in the market. The widespread availability of fake electrical items, often sold under the names of reputable companies, has long posed serious risks to both consumers and legitimate businesses.
Counterfeit products not only damage the credibility of established brands but also compromise safety standards, exposing users to potential hazards such as electrical faults, short circuits, and fire risks. Industry stakeholders have repeatedly raised concerns over the unchecked sale of such substandard goods, calling for stricter enforcement measures.
Taking a decisive step in this regard, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recently conducted a raid in Lahore targeting shopkeepers involved in the sale of fake products falsely branded as ENTES. The operation led to the confiscation of counterfeit items and served as a warning to those engaged in illegal trade practices.
ENTES, a globally recognized name in electrical equipment, has been particularly affected by the proliferation of imitations in the local market. The brand’s authorized distributor in Pakistan, Mubasher Electric Company/ Shahid International, has been actively working alongside authorities to identify and eliminate fake products, ensuring that customers receive genuine and reliable equipment.
Industry experts believe that such enforcement actions are crucial in restoring consumer confidence and maintaining quality standards in the electrical sector. They also emphasize the need for greater awareness among buyers, urging them to purchase products only from authorized dealers. The recent crackdown signals a stronger commitment by both regulatory authorities and industry players to combat counterfeit goods, marking a positive step toward a safer and more transparent marketplace.
