A ceremony was held in the federal capital to launch a website (www.cpec.pk) of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in early December attended by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong and others.
Addressing the ceremony, Sun Weidong said, “The CPEC is a long-term project and we should evaluate everything on the scientific lines for its efficient implementation.” He highlighted that 10,000 local people had gained jobs through 17 projects of the CPEC.
He said Silk Road Spirit is aimed at peace, cooperation, mutual learning, benefits, and win-win outcome.
The Chinese Ambassador said that CPEC is a major and pilot project of ‘One Belt, One Road’ for which the initiative had been proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013.
He said, “China has already established the Silk Road Bank and Asia Infrastructure Bank to strengthen cooperation of the both countries over CPEC projects.
The Chinese Ambassador also appreciated the efforts of Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed in promoting China-Pakistan friendship. Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the website would be used to pass on information to the general masses with respect to CPEC projects and to clear misconceptions about these projects.
He said the whole country would reap the benefits of the CPEC projects, adding that Pakistan is ready to face the challenges in completion of these projects
