Continuity and teamwork would remain central to the leadership approach

Mr. Jafar Raza Haidery Takes Charge of Pakistan HVACR Society Lahore Chapter

The Pakistan HVACR Society has, over the 32 years, established itself as the leading professional body representing the Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration sector in the country. Through continuous engagement with industry, academia and policymakers, the society has played a vital role in promoting technical knowledge, setting professional standards, and creating platforms for collaboration and growth. Within this framework, the Lahore Chapter has consistently emerged as a flagship chapter, setting trends and raising benchmarks for other fields to follow. In this context, the election of Mr. Jafar Raza Haidery as Chairman of the Lahore Chapter marks a continuation of a strong legacy coupled with a renewed commitment to future growth.

Exclusively speaking with Engineering Post, Mr. Jafar Raza Haidery paid rich tribute to the efforts of his predecessors, acknowledging their role in making Lahore a benchmark chapter within the Pakistan HVACR Society. “Lahore has always been the trendsetter,” he said. “Time and again, records of the society have been broken here and new standards have already been set. This has only been possible because of the dedication and vision of the previous chairmen and their teams.” He added that taking over the leadership of such a high-performing chapter is both an honor and a responsibility. “My team and myself are fully determined to keep this tradition alive and aim for new highs during our tenure,” he remarked.

The newly elected chairman emphasized that continuity and teamwork would remain central to his leadership approach. According to him, progress is achieved when past successes are respected and built upon with fresh energy and ideas. “We are not starting from zero,” he noted. “We are standing on very strong foundations and our goal is to further strengthen them through innovation, inclusion and active engagement with all stakeholders of the HVACR industry.”

One of the key priorities highlighted by Mr. Jafar Raza Haidery during the conversation was the integration of academia with the HVACR sector. He stressed the importance of creating early awareness among students about the scope and importance of the industry. “The future of HVACR lies in the hands of our youth,” he said. “We are actively working to bring universities on board so that students can understand this sector, not just as a subject, but also as a promising career path.” He explained that under this initiative, universities are being lined up, dedicated society chapters are being formed within campuses and technical seminars and awareness sessions are regularly organized.

He further shared that students are encouraged to participate in the society’s annual activities, particularly the HVACR Exhibition. “We make it a point to invite students to the annual exhibition so that they can see the industry firsthand, interact with professionals and understand current technologies and market trends,” he stated. “This exposure bridges the gap between theory and practice.”

Discussing the annual HVACR Exhibition, the chairman described it as one of the most successful and credible industry events in Pakistan. “The response from the industry has always been overwhelming,” he said. By highlighting a recent milestone, he added, “Last year, when the booking for the exhibition was announced online, almost 90 percent of the stalls were sold out within just ten minutes. This speaks volumes about the trust and confidence the industry has in this expo.”
