The federal government is making concerted efforts for developing the energy sector for enhanced efficiency and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 7 goals, focusing on reliable, affordable and sustainable energy for all .
Thee federal is determined to expedite mega Hydropower Projects i.e. 2150 MW Dasu HPP, 1410 MW Tarbela 5rth extension HPP and 4500 MW Diamir Basha HPP, all of which are being finance through Public Sector Development Programme obviously with foreign assistance for increasing the share of hydel energy in the generation mix as early as possible.
Accordingly, the share of indigenous energy resources i.e. domestic coal, renewable and hydropower resources is going to be duly increased in order to achieve sustainability, affordability and self-reliance in the Power Generation Sector.
