WAPDA Chairman briefed the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Chief Minister Muhammad Khalid Khursheed about the ongoing projects i.e. Diamer Basha Dam, Harpo, Tangir, Thak, Shayok Dam, Basho, Attabad Lake, Skardu Dam, Tungus and Yulbo hydropower projects. As the GB government is playing the central role in the implementation of various projects, especially Diamer Basha Dam, the continuous work on the site despite the Covid-19 is emphasizing on the significance of Diamer Basha Dam in national development mainly for GB. A substantial amount of Rs.78.5 billion has been spent on development schemes to uplift the project area on confidence building measures. On site construction including Diamer Basha Dam would pay in the long run to transform the socio-economic landscape of the country, most specifically for Gilgit-Baltistan.
