Built on Trust, Delivered Through Expertise

An Exclusive Interview with Kamran Zafar and Irfan Ahmed,Founding Partners, Dynamik Electrical Contractor & Supplier

In an era of rapid industrialization where market trends often dictate corporate trajectories, Dynamik Electrical Contractor & Supplier stands as a testament to the power of organic growth and technical proficiency. Founded in April 2007 by Mr. Kamran Zafar and Mr. Irfan Ahmed, the Karachi-based electrical firm has evolved from a home-based partnership into a professional enterprise serving Pakistan’s largest industrial and textile conglomerates. In an exclusive conversation with Engineering Post, the two founders shared the story behind their journey.

Both partners brought extensive experience from design consultancies and contracting firms, spanning the entire engineering lifecycle, from planning to on-site execution. Through consistent hard work and reliable service, the company built lasting client relationships that have endured for nearly two decades.

Unlike many firms that chase market share through aggressive marketing, Dynamik’s growth has been driven largely by trust and client referrals. This allowed the partners to specialize in distinct but equally vital industrial sectors. Mr. Irfan has been instrumental in establishing the firm’s presence within the automobile and banking sectors. A significant milestone occurred when a connection in the automobile industry led to an everlasting relationship with Atlas Honda. Simultaneously, Mr. Kamran Zafar has extensive involvement in the textile sector and maintains a longstanding relationship with the Artistic Group, including Artistic Milliners, Artistic Garment Industries, Artistic Fabric Mills, and Artistic Denim Mills. His portfolio also includes work for Clariant and Changhan Motors, further demonstrating the firm’s versatility.

Mr. Kamran credits the company’s strength to its team, noting that “the people with whom we started our journey in 2007 are still with us today, making Dynamik a centre of excellence”. This internal harmony is supported by a network of trusted vendor partners, including MA and Unique Engineering, Pioneer Cables, and Clipsal (Schneider).

Dynamik’s core offerings cover the full electrical spectrum, from high-tension work, including transformers and switchgear, to complete low-tension distribution through cabling and busways. The firm has competence in IT infrastructure, handling fibre optics, CCTV, PABX, and security systems. On the residential side, recent projects have incorporated smart home technology such as DALI lighting and Lutron controls in partnership with Synergy. Bridging the gap between service and production, Dynamik has expanded into in-house manufacturing, producing its own cable trays and modular floor boxes. Moreover, Safety has always been a priority for Dynamik, supported by regular training. As Mr. Kamran states, “We don’t just say ‘Safety First’ — we practice it.”

The transition from a two-person startup to a force of hundreds of employees was made possible by resilience and relentless execution. Dynamik is deeply grateful to those who have supported their vision and is optimistic about a future of continuous growth and success.
