Mr Usama Qureshi, Co-founder & Director BOLTS (Private) Limited talks to Engineering Post
BOLTS (Private) Limited, a name of quality in electrical switchgear and turnkey solutions, has completed 5 years of business in the market. In these 5 years, the company has gone from an underdog to a solid competitor for some of the top guns of the market. While talking to Engineering Post, Mr Usama Qureshi, Co-founder & Director BOLTS (Private) Limited shared some of his secrets behind the success of the company “From the first day we decided not to compromise on quality. Our top quality product and consequently international certifications are testament to the brilliance of our product & our ability as an organization to execute projects” he said.
BOLTS (Private) Limited has grown from a newly established entity to a known & well-established name in the engineering and power sector within the last few years. During his exclusive conversation with Engineering Post, we asked about the journey Bolts went through to be able to become a top competitor. Mr Usama explained “We started off as a state of the art mechanical shop. We were the sole supplier for Schneider Electric but we always wanted a company which worked according to the norms of the corporate world. So we focused on servicing a smaller clientele but with a superior product. Gradually we increased our client base always making sure never to over commit and under deliver. ” he said.
The most important contributing factor for the growth of any company is its reputation in the market. BOLTS (Private) Limited has built the reputation of a professional organisation having the capability of producing import quality level products here in Pakistan. BOLTS now provides one window solutions for all mechanical fabrication, electrical switchgear and turnkey projects, from designing to complete execution.
To maintain the standards of the company BOLTS, uses state of the art software to design and monitor the products and related processes. The machinery is also routinely inspected and calibrated. Mr Usama while talking to Engineering Post emphasised on the fact that the Pakistani market has now become very quality conscious but at the same time it is also budget conscious. “People want a good quality product at low prices. It is only possible with local manufacturing. Not just local but good quality local manufacturing having certifications and standards. For example the generator canopy was always imported because of inferior quality produced in the country. We decided to locally manufacture the generator canopy and ours is better than the imported version and it is cheaper.”
While talking about the effects of COVID-19, Mr Usama said that although the business had started slowing down in the past few months things are getting better very quickly. “The textile industry is growing at a very fast pace and we are very optimistic about the next year,” he said.
While explaining the strategy behind the launching of the company Mr. Usama said “We never wanted to be known as a small player or a new comer in the market so instead of marketing we focused on the quality of our products until we started becoming known as producers of quality products. Only then we started aggressive marketing of our state of the art manufacturing site and quality conscious company” he added.
When Mr. Usama was asked about the future plans of the company he said “We are planning to get attached with a multinational brand with a two pronged agenda. Firstly we will manufacture the international level product here in Pakistan. Secondly we will provide after sales service in the market for our products. The biggest lacking in the market right now is that after sales services are either non-existent or are very difficult to obtain. We will increase our clientele and provide professional services to them”.
