Attock Refinery Limited shuts down its two units

Engineering Post Report

Attock Refinery Limited, the only refinery in the north of Pakistan, has shut down two of its units due to low product lifting  by oil marketing  companies  resulting in high petrol and high-speed diesel stocks.

According to ARL  sources,  the dispatch pattern for December 2023 had continued to remain depressed  as a result of which  stocks of Premier  Motor Gasoline (Perol) and High Speed Diesel (HSL) had reached very high levels  with little or no ullage in  storage tanks especially those of petrol. The sources said that in order to manage  the high stock of these products, the company has shut down two of its crude distillation units temporarily  to manage the refinery operations.
