The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association including Pakistan Ready Made Garments Association and All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association has demanded from government to allows the whole supply chain of the textile sector to start their operations. The connotations have also demanded for the suspension of all restrictions and documentation requirements including condition of having computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) of buyer for the sale of above Rs 50,000 till June 30. Chairman APTMA Punjab Adil Bashir spoke out that in majority of the cases export orders can’t be completed without opening the complete supply chain. He demanded that the government should reduce the rate of sales tax. PRGMEA Chief Coordinator Ijaz Khokhar also put forth the same demand. The All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association secretary also came up with the same demand. He also suggested that the government should suspend all kind of restrictions and documentation requirements till June 30. The government has only given the permission to the processing mills having Letter of Credit (LC). Thus, the government should allow all the processing mills to start their operation who are ready to follow the Standing Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
