French Development Agency (AFD) has signed a credit facility agreement of 130 million euros for Peshawar Sustainable Bus Rapid Transit Corridor project. The agreement was signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Noor Ahmed and Marc Barety, Ambassador of France, and Jacky Amprou, Country Director of the AFD. This will be a short term loan at nominal interest rates. Repayment will start after 25 years. This loan will be utilized for procuring vehicles for the BRT which is expected to be operational by March 23rd 2019.
France through the French Agency for Development is working in Pakistan and providing technical and financial support to develop low-carbon emission infrastructures. Until now, the AFD has committed 880 million euros financial support. The BRT will reduce CO2 emissions and will be another step towards a greener Pakistan.
