A to Zee Switchgear Wins Mega Projects

Mr. Jawed Zaman, CEO of A to Zee Switchgear, recently spoke to Engineering Post in an exclusive interview, sharing insights into the company’s rapid growth, its latest international success, and the strategic direction shaping its future. As one of Pakistan’s prominent manufacturers of electrical panels and switchgear, A to Zee Switchgear has steadily built a reputation for quality, reliability, and the ability to deliver on large, complex projects.

Highlighting the company’s most recent achievement, Mr. Zaman revealed that A to Zee Switchgear has secured a major national project of exceptional scale. “We have recently won a massive project, which is a significant milestone for us,” he said. “The volume of this project is substantial and reflects the confidence global clients are placing in Pakistani manufacturing expertise.” The project, titled the AGI Denim Washing Unit K15, is described as a mega project, both in terms of scope and technical requirements.

Under this project, A to Zee Switchgear will be supplying fully Type Tested Switchgear Block Sets, a critical component for ensuring safety, performance, and compliance with international standards. Mr. Zaman emphasized the importance of this responsibility, noting, “Providing type-tested switchgear for a project of this magnitude underscores our technical strength and our commitment to delivering world-class solutions.” He added that the project also carries strategic importance for Schneider, making it a high-profile assignment within the regional and international engineering landscape.

The project timeline is equally demanding, with a completion window of just 14 to 16 weeks. According to Mr. Zaman, this aggressive schedule showcases the company’s operational maturity. “Such timelines can only be achieved when you have robust systems, skilled manpower, and complete confidence in your production capabilities,” he explained. “Our teams are fully geared to meet these deadlines without compromising on quality.”

Beyond the AGI Denim Washing Unit K15 project, Mr. Zaman shared that several other mega projects are currently in the pipeline. This strong order book has prompted A to Zee Switchgear to make strategic investments aimed at scaling up its operations. “We are inducting new, advanced machinery specifically for switchgear manufacturing,” he said. “Laser cutting, laser welding machines and new press brake are being added to enhance precision, efficiency, and overall production quality.” One of the key addition is the primary injection tester, Hipot Tester, Contact resistance and relay testers. Together these testing instruments enhance diagnostic capability, improve maintenance effectiveness and align testing practices with modern industry standards. The integration of advanced switchgear testing equipment reflects a proactive approach to reliability, safety and operational excellence in today’s power system.

In parallel with machinery upgrades, the company is also expanding its production capacity and workforce. Mr. Zaman pointed out that human capital remains a cornerstone of the company’s growth strategy. “We are increasing our manpower to cater to these mega projects,” he stated. “Technology is important, but skilled people are what truly drive execution and innovation.”

With major international projects underway, significant investments in technology and manpower, and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, A to Zee Switchgear appears well-positioned to enter a new phase of growth. As Mr. Zaman concluded, “This is just the beginning. We are preparing A to Zee Switchgear for a much bigger role in regional and global markets.”
