National Highway Authority( NHA) is implementing as many as 63 major and minor development schemes in a phased manner at an estimated total cost of Rs 20569.636 million sans any foreign aid from any source.
Against this total cost, NHA had so far incurred Rs 1280386.450 million till end June 2022 and is spending another Rs 85285.281 million including foreign aid of Rs 21500.000 million during ongoing financial year 2022-23 for ensuring maximum number of schemes attain completion or near completion status by end June 2023.
These projects which were receiving foreign assistance in varying amounts and different sources included CAREC Corridor Development Investment Programme Tranche-1 Projects Asian Development Bank i.Petaro-Sehwan section (128 KM),ii.Peshwar-Dera Adam Khel (38 KM) and iii.Shikarpur -Ratodero (44 KM); Construction of Additional Carriage Way Shikarpur-Rajanpur Section of N-55 CAREC Corridor (ADB); Construction of Alhmuqam-Sharda Kel-Taobat Road Section (109.2 km) including two tunnels at Kahori/Kamser(3.7 km) and Chailpani (0.6 km) section of Neelum Valley Road Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) Deposit Work; Construction of Malakand Tunnel (Phase-1); Construction of Rajanpur-Dera Ghazi Khan as a 4 lane Highway (ADB); D.G.Khan-D.I.Khan (ACW) (N-55) 208 KM CAREC Corridor ADB; Dualization & Improvement of Existing N-50 from Yarik-Sagu-Zhob including Zhob Bypass (210 KM); Improve and Widening of N-45 (130.22 KM); Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project (Revised) (World Bank);Peshawar-Karachi Motorway (PKM) Project Construction of Sukkur-Multan Section (392 KM) (Revised); and Rehabilitation of National Highways Network damaged due to unprecedented Monsoon Rains & Floods 2010 (Revised.
