Another 2617 new companies in different sectors were registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) during September 2024. The total number of registered companies in the country has now increased to 231111.
About 55 percent of new companies during the month under report were incorporated as private limited companies, 41 percent as single member companies and remaining 4 percent as public unlisted companies, for profit associations, trade organizations and limited partnerships.
Among the sectors, the Information Technology sector took the lead with registration of 410 companies followed by Trading with 377 companies, Services with 306 companies, Real Estate Development and Construction 237, Tourism and Ecommerce with 125 each, Engineering sector 57 new, companies, Textile 49 companies, Transport sector 39, Power Generation 31, Fuel and Energy 27, Auto and allied 24, Cables and Electric Goods 18, Communications 15, Steel and Allied 11 among other sectors.
Foreign investment was reported in 61 new companies , having foreign investors from Afghanistan, Australia, Cameroon,, China, France, Jamaica, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, , Turkey, UK and USA.
