The Federal Government was all set to privatize 24 major power and financial entities in three phases in five years.
In the first phase, national airlines PIA, Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan (ADBP), First Women Bank, House building Finance Corporation, Pakistan Engineering Company (PECO), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO), Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) and Sindh Engineering Limited are among the public sector entities to be privatized.
The entities already marked for privatization included State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) , Pakistan Reinsurance Company, Central Power
Generation Company, Jamshoro Power Company, Northern Power Generation Company and Lakhra Power Generation Company located in different areas all over the country.
