Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The 14th Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF), held from October 6th-8th, 2024, successfully brought together global leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore the future of sustainable development in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Hosted at Hilton Riyadh the forum served as a vital platform for thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and progress on green building initiatives in line with Vision 2030.
Centered around the theme, “Building a Sustainable Future: Innovations and Best Practices for Green Construction,” the forum featured a robust program that included keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. These sessions were led by prominent experts in architecture, engineering, and urban planning. Topics covered a wide array of pressing issues, from energy-efficient design and sustainable urban planning to eco-friendly materials and renewable energy integration.
Mohamed El Zarkani, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Saudi Arabia, highlighted the forum’s critical role in promoting sustainability in the built environment. He remarked that initiatives like the SGBF, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, are turning challenges into opportunities. Green buildings, a pillar of this vision, not only address environmental concerns but also enhance human well-being, ensuring a secure and sustainable future.
