In order to provide electricity to WASA stations, the Punjab energy department has planned to install 100 new solar power plants. These plants worth Rs.39 billions, will be solely dedicated for Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA). In consideration of that, a proposal has been forwarded to the Punjab cabinet. According to the proposal, the installation of solar power plants would save Rs5 billion electricity charges annually.
